Center of Motion
Conceptual exploration of a room scale sensing entity

Center of Motion is a wall/ structure-mounted interactive
installation that invites visitors to move around to create music.

Lights (via LED strips) and electronic tones (via speakers) are triggered when players approach the proximity sensors (infrared sensors, contactless).

Each modular unit can be positioned and repositioned using magnets (or some temporary means of attachment), allowing for an installation that can change daily for the duration of the
exhibition.

Throughout the duration of exhibition, the various sensor data is recorded and the lights and sounds retriggered when the installation is not interacted with by players, an alternate multimedia recording of visitors past.

Collaboration with Jing Liu
This piece was imagined as literally a focal point for communal activity, and anthropomorphizing the room that spectates human activity. How would it dream? How would its space evolve to accomodate activity, and how would this change affect its memories?
